My Passion

As a young girl I dreamed of being on Broadway.

I planned to move to New York with a girlfriend in my early 20's.

{I got a communications degree and became a high school English teacher instead.}

I met an amazing stage director and musician and fell head over heels.

He asked me to marry him on our second date. I was 26.

We had beautiful babies. Lots and lots of beautiful babies.

My  girlfriend asked me, "What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?"

Capture beauty through my lens.

Life is precious. I'm only guarenteed this moment. And I'd rather fail at something I LOVE than succeed at something I could take or leave. Life in a nutshell.

I know who I am. I know whose I am. And His plans for me are far greater than I could ask or imagine.

I. love. life.

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to visit my former blog "through the lens.

Robyn + Stephen. Ceresville Mansion Wedding.

She’s sharp. Extrememly. Well spoken. Bright. Disarmingly warm. A power woman educational administrator. He’s tall. Handsome. Man of thoughtful word and method.  Basketball coach. Tenacious. He wanted her. Because, well, she is a total catch. Together, they are perfection. They adore one another. I felt it in the way they spoke of one another when...

Jenna + Justin. Classic Country Wedding.

It was the union of two dynasties . . . Carroll County style. The Shriver family of Westminster.  The Myers family of New Windsor.  Now . . . if you’re native to our neck of the woods, you get the implications. Generations of farmers . . .  and it all happened at Justin’s family’s homestead,...

Corrin + Kevin. Classic Country Wedding.

It was only a year ago they went crashing into one another. Preparing for senior year at UNC Greensboro, she had moved north for the summer. He of the T. Rowe Price corporate world, was looking for some relaxation in the magic of an eastern seaboard summer night. They met under the blanket of...

Julia + Ethan. Swan Harbor Farm Wedding.

They spent the day enveloped. Enveloped in the love of their closest family and friends. Enveloped in the knowing glances and secret sighs they shared throughout the day. Enveloped in the excitement of a Monday morning departure to the Greek Isles.  Enveloped in heat of passion that rivaled the blanket of east coast summer that...

Linden + Daniel. Gramercy Mansion Wedding.

It plays out better than my stack of summer beach reads. They first fell in love as children attending the same youth group in church. She played volleyball and rose to the top of her class and he tore it up on the lax field and camped at the top of his class, as well....

Tremont Grand Wedding. South Beach Florida. Veronica + Bryant.

Something about Veronica takes my breath away. She is fiercely gorgeous, and so comfortable in her skin that her friends and family stand in awe. I heard it all night – her best friend from South Beach, Mia, said it best- she’s the most beautiful thing alive. And the way that her man...

The Mansion at Valley Country Club Wedding: Tarryn + Dan.

They carried book bags into their classroom at Sacred Heart School in Glyndon, wide eyed 1st graders with hope in their eyes and dreams in their hearts. They ate lunch, played on the playground and learned to read side by side. She graduated to Mercy High School, an all girls’ school where she fell...

Gina + Matt. Tremont Grand.

He maintains that he laid back, believing it in bad taste to hit on the doctor’s daughter. She maintains that she’d search the appointment log looking for the day his dad was scheduled for dental work . . . then dress in her best professional “fresh and flirty.”  While their dads got on with dental...

Gina + Matt. Tremont Grand. Sneak Peak.

When I fall in love with a couple, it’s curtains for me. I’m in my element all day long . . . and savor every piece of the wedding day. At the end of of night, I unload my gear, plug in my computer and  start a pot of coffee in the quiet of my...

Corrin + Kevin. Greensboro, NC Engagement Session.

Summer Nights. That’s where their romance began, in Maryland horse country, as fireflies lit the late summer meadows and they enjoyed long conversations underneath the stars. Then, Corrin went back for her senior year at UNC Greensboro, and Kevin began his bi-weekly trek down the highway to see his girl. They’ll be married this summer...
